Nature on health

Decorating With Nature Has Healing Benefits

Hello and thank you for spending time to navigate my website. I’m pleased you’re on this particular page because it shows you’re curious about how what hangs on your walls can do anything more than beautify a room or hallway?

If you’ve been in a medical office or a hospital in the past ten years, you’ve notice most have replaced the sterile white walls with pictures of sceneries of nature. You’ve likely not given much thought to why this change has occurred. Why would these facilities invest in wall decor, that is placed in areas where the company executives will seldom lay eyes on it?

Calming river running through lush green hills brings calming and relaxing benefits.

The answer is real simple; I’ve included several links below to help you discover why, and I hope you return to my website afterward and begin your investment in your wellbeing.

  1. Hospitals use nature photography to aid in healing:
  2. Clemson University research the positive effects of nature scene images on the mind and body:
  3. Health Newsletter’s article on reduced stress and reduces anxiety influenced by nature wall decor:

Yosemite National Park waterfall captures the mind bringing peace.

Why NOT Abstract Images?

Although beautiful, abstract art has a non-calming effect. If you’ve ever taken a color blind test, you’ll understand! Abstract art is counter productive to relaxing the mind, specifically this kind of art provokes the brain to work at locating and identify objects of familiarity in the image. Obviously this is NOT what you want hanging on your wall at the end of a hectic day when you enter your private space for relaxation or displayed on your office wall when you squeeze-in that brief break from your daunting task and responsibilites.
